The Tucson Festival of Books is the third largest book festival in the U.S. On March 12 and 13, 2022, I participated in two panels at the festival, one with the short story writer Daniel A. Olivas and another with fiction writer Sequoia Nagamatsu. I also managed to see a few sessions, the highlight for me being a panel with four novelists: Xochitl Gonzalez, Robert Jones, Jason Mott, and David Heska Wanbli Weiden. It was also great to see a really strong contingent of Native American writers, especially those in the Hopi and Diné panels.
Thank you so much to the tireless organizers and to the amazing volunteers. It was a wonderful weekend, full of interesting discussions and much laughter. And it was so good to attend an event face to face!
